The University of Pittsburgh Genetic Counseling Program, located in the Department of Human Genetics in the Graduate School of Public Health, has a rich history. It is the second oldest genetic counseling program in the country and has trained over 300 genetic counselors. The Program has continued to evolve since its inception in 1971 in order to best prepare students for the rapidly changing genetic counseling profession.
