Winterbreak in Pittsburgh
Two of our students looking sharp at Phipps |
1.
Phipps light show! This year’s theme “let it glow” brought many
students joy as they were able to see beautiful trees and flowers such as
amaryllis, orchids and more than 2,000 poinsettias. You can’t go wrong, even
when its cold outside, in the winter light garden! And some of our students
splurged for the extra festive glasses!

If you missed the Phipps light show, don’t worry, their Orchid and
Tropical Bonsai show is coming up and promises “eye candy.” We’re so excited to
see it!
3. Ice skating downtown. Did you know that if you head to downtown Pittsburgh beyond the giant tree, you can also ice skate!
4. Hamilton! The Broadway show is finally here in the ‘burgh! But if you missed out on buying tickets, you can still enter the ongoing lottery ( https://hamiltonmusical.com/lottery/ ). You can still enjoy the Benedum Center and check out the other shows including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or The Great Gatsby.

5. The Pittsburgh Zoo - during the holiday season some of our students took advantage of the free Zoo days, but even if you missed that, you can still see the penguins on parade!

First night – Why travel to New York City to see the ball drop
when you can see the Future of Pittsburgh ball rise Downtown, complete with

Night is Pittsburgh’s New Year’s Eve celebration, which takes place in the
Cultural District and includes live music, dance, comedy, magic shows, and

10. The Nutcracker:
What would winter break be without the winter wonderland brought to us with the
Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker!
11. Snuggling
at home. What is winter break if not getting to sleep in and stay cozy?
